About the Artist:
Rodolfo Zuzuarregui has been passionate about art since childhood, leading him to attend the University of Guadalajara to study Art. After graduating in 1967, sculpture was his main artistic format, most notably collaborating with his professors Miguel Miramontes and Rafael Zamarripa in the design and construction of the famous “Caballito de Mar” sculpture on Puerto Vallarta‘s pier. After a vibrant career filled with solo and group exhibitions, issues with his vision and the economic crisis in Mexico in the 1980’s forced him to relocate to a small town in Mexicali, where the vibrancy of nature and the support of his family reinvigorated his passion for artistic expression. Since, painting in watercolor, oil and murals have taken precedence in his studio, most recently showing his work in March 2016 at the Latin American Festival in San Diego.
